In April 2022 we were awarded the Innovation Award at the Dudley Integrated Health and Care Staff Awards! Over the Covid-19 pandemic, the Pensnett Assessment Centre were seeing patients face to face, the staff were always going above and beyond to help the people of Dudley during difficult times.
Below is just some of our staff who worked during in the RED centre!
In April 2021, Dignio and Dudley CCG won the Meridian Driving Digital Transformation Innovation Award for the Oximetry@Home service! "This wouldn't have been possible without all of the great work Future Proof Health and the Acute Respiratory Hub are doing on the ground" - Phil Reay, Dignio
In May 2022, we were awarded Freedom of the borough and invited to the Mayors Garden Party. Ourselves and other
NHS staff, voluntary sector workers and those working in adult social care, public health, children’s services and bereavement services were all represented. It is the highest honour that a council can bestow, and it has been awarded in the past to the likes of Sir Lenny Henry, RAF Cosford and Roy Richardson. In receipt of the Freedom scroll, frontline staff now have the right to drive their sheep or cattle through the middle of Dudley town centre. Below are photos from the day featuring our dedicated team.
COVID-19 Vaccinations
Future Proof Health have been working in conjunction with Dudley Integrated Health and Care Trust (DIHC) and Sedgley Coseley Gornal (SCG) PCN on the delivery of the Covid-19 Vaccine. The Northway Medical Centre was selected as the host practice out of the 8 (Northway, Ridgeway, Woodsetton, Coseley, Bath Street, Lower Gornal, The Greens and Castle Meadows) because of its availability of clinical rooms and the accessible car parking. Patients from the other practices are booked in via an appointment system and each practice is allocated a certain amount of appointments. The appointments are 12-13 hours a day including the weekends.
NHS Mass vaccination sites are contacting the eligible patients via a letter to attend there but patients do not have to attend there and they can contact their GP to get an appointment at the Northway.
With just a few days’ notice the Northway was one of the first GP surgeries in Dudley to receive the Pfizer BioNTech in December 2020 and administered just under 1000 jabs. Further vaccine deliveries were delivered throughout January including 2nd dose for the patients that attended in December before the guidance changed to 12 weeks. The Pfizer BioNtech vaccine is delivered in boxes of 975, which have to be kept at a specific temperature and need to be used within a 3 day and half day timescale. The AstraZeneca vaccine doesn’t have to be kept at such a low temperature and comes in virals with around 10 doses. Northway has no control over the delivery, it’s a push model where we get 2 or 3 days notice of when to expect the next delivery. Patients who attend the surgery will get either AstraZeneca or Pfizer BioNTech, depending on what delivery has come in. This means that for the 2nd dose they will get the same administered first time round. When a Pfizer clinic goes ahead we can only accommodate a through flow of 5 patients, we have 5 in and 5 out, this way we can maintain social distancing.
